About my journey to Halycon
Hi, I'm Jon.
I've spent decades behind the camera, watching first-hand how imagery shapes perception and how the way a business is seen, influences the way it is understood.
Before founding Halcyon Visuals, I built my career photographing global advertising campaigns and creating portraits of internationally recognised names, including Sir David Attenborough and Sir Lewis Hamilton. It was a world built on precision, lighting, instinct and trust. Often under pressure, often with very little time, and always with the expectation to deliver. But here’s the truth. Connection doesn’t need hours. It needs presence, energy, and someone who can create trust fast.
And yet, somewhere along the way, I found myself facing the same challenge many of my clients experience now.
For years, I was comfortable behind the lens. My work spoke for itself, and for a long time that felt like enough. Then the world shifted. Visibility became part of doing business. It was no longer only about what you could do, but how you showed up. For the first time, I had to step forward, speak about what I did, and allow myself to be seen.
I didn't find that easy.
Like many business owners and leaders, I understood the discomfort immediately. The hesitation. The resistance. The feeling that your work should speak for itself. But I also came to understand something deeper: people connect with people. They respond to presence, trust and emotion long before they understand the full detail of what you offer. Your visual presence is not separate from your business. It is part of how your business is experienced.
And I know how difficult that can feel when there is a gap between the reality of what you have built and the way it appears to the outside world.
That is the gap Halcyon Visuals exists to close.

I think that comes from experience, but also from the way I see the world. My creative lens has been shaped by over two decades of exploring the world through photography and immersing myself in different cultures, colours and perspectives. Those experiences have deepened my sensitivity to atmosphere, story and human connection, and they continue to inform the way I work and the stories I tell through images. They shape how I look for what is real, feels true, and what will genuinely connect with the people you want to reach.
Because strong business imagery is never just about looking polished. It's about being seen clearly. It's about helping the right people feel the quality of what you have built. It’s about trust, perception, and connection.
